How To Get Here
From Vancouver International Airport, a float plane can be hired direct to Lasqueti Island. You can also travel by vehicle from Vancouver to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, crossing via the BC Ferries system to Nanaimo and then driving to French Creek Marina (between Parskville and Qualicum Beach) about 1/2 hour north of Nanaimo. From there you can take a water taxi from French Creek Marina or the one hour foot passenger ferry (bicycles and kayaks accepted) to Lasqueti Island.
If coming from Victoria travel north on Vancouver Island. Expect about a 2 hour drive to get to French Creek Marina.
Vancouver Island and Lasqueti Island are on the Pacific Coast in the province of British Columbia in Canada:
How to get to Lasqueti Island from French Creek Marina by Ferry:
Take the Lasqueti Island Ferry located at the end of the parking lot in French Creek Marina. Turn right as you enter the parking lot. The ferry leaves from the dock adjacent to the concrete boat launch.
The Ferry is a sixty passenger aluminum craft with salon, called the Centurion VII. It will generally be in dock at least ½ hour before sailing time. Check the Western Pacific Marine Services – Ferry Services tab for the Lasqueti Island Schedule detail on the Travel Links. Get a boarding pass if they are in the metal box on the post at the dock. This will help ensure you get on the ferry during peak travel season. If boarding passes are given out, you must be physically on the ferry at least 15 minutes prior to sailing or you will lose your spot. A ferry ticket is payable each way and the ferry runs three times daily on ferry days. Note there is no ferry on Tuesdays on the summer schedule, and no ferry Tuesdays or Wednesdays on the winter schedule. On Sundays there are only afternoon ferries. There is paid parking to leave your vehicle at French Creek Marina.
Whether you travel by float plane, ferry or water taxi, you will land at False Bay on Lasqueti Island.
